EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to reappoint a member to the Health Facilities Authority.
OBJECTIVE: To reappoint one member to the Health Facilities Authority, to a four-year term expiring
on October 9, 2023.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Health Facilities Authority is five member authority created on November
20, 1979, by Ordinance No. 79-95 in accordance with Chapter 154 of the Florida Statutes. The purpose
of the authority is to assist health facilities in the acquisition, construction, financing and refinancing of
projects in any incorporated or unincorporated area within the geographical limits of Collier County.
Terms are four years. A list of the current membership is included in the backup.
There is one seat on this authority which expired on October 9, 2019. The vacancy was advertised and
applications were received from the following:

ATTENDANCE: Mr. Morton was absent from only one meeting in the past two years, and he did
attend that meeting by phone.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: That Mr. Morton be reappointed to his seat on this authority, to a four-
year term which shall expire on October 9, 2023. A recommendation memo is included in the backup.
FISCAL IMPACT: None.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners adopts the Staff Recommendation,
and directs the County Attorney to prepare a resolution confirming the reappointment.
