PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, "Party Hearty for Charity," also known as The Party with a Purpose
Foundation, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose motto is, "A Good Time for
Great Causes"; and,
WHEREAS, the Party with a Purpose event began as a private party for Barbara and
and Daniel Melvin to celebrate their birthdays and wedding anniversary,
which all occurred in the same month, they decided to turn their personal
celebration into a community-oriented fundraising event; and,
WHEREAS, their mission is to bring resources to those who need it most at any given
moment and they bring those resources wrapped in joy, laughter, love
and music, alleviating distress and sorrow while soothing the soul with
music; and,
WHEREAS, through fundraising and volunteerism, they transport all of this to as
many as they can from a vehicle of love that benefits the community;
and,
WHEREAS, previous beneficiaries were Hodges University's Diversity Festival, Dress
for Success SW Florida, Collier County NAACP's ACT-SO Program, the
National Association on Mental Illness, Alzheimer's Support Network,
and the Parkinson's Association of Southwest Florida; and,
WHEREAS, this year's event will benefit Wounded Warriors of Collier County in its
efforts to end veterans' homelessness in Collier County.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier
County, Florida, that October 24, 2019, be designated as
PARTY HEARTY FOR CHARITY DAY
IN COLLIER COUNTY
DONE AND ORDERED THIS 22nd Day of October 2019.
