EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve the proposed annual holiday event know as Christmas
Around the World Parade hosted by the Immokalee Chamber of Commerce. This
recommendation is to fulfill a requirement of the Florida Department of Transportat ion
(FDOT) temporary road closure permit application. This event has been hosted by the
Immokalee Chamber of Commerce for over twenty-five (25) years. This year the event will
take place on Saturday, December 14, 2019 from 4:30pm -7:30pm.

OBJECTIVE: To provide a certified copy of minutes of a duly scheduled Board of County
Commissioners meeting to approve the Christmas Around the World Parade and the parade
route, hosted by the Immokalee Chamber of Commerce. This is a requirement of FDOT’s
temporary road closure permit application.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Florida Administration Code Section 14-65.0035, Temporary Closing
of State Road for Special Events, requires a certified copy of an excerpt from the minutes of a
duly scheduled meeting, or duly executed resolution, of the local government entity authorizing
the special event.
FISCAL IMPACT: There is no Fiscal Impact associated with this action.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no Growth Management Impact associated
with this action.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This event does not qualify for an exception to the prior
written approval by the local government entity under Section 14-65.0025(2), FAC. This item is
approved as to form and legality, and it requires a majority vote for approval. (HFAC)
RECOMMENDATION: To find that the road closure is necessary for the event and authorize the
Immokalee Chamber of Commerce to host their annual holiday event know as Christmas Around
the World Parade and the parade route. This recommendation is to fulfill a requirement of the
FDOT (Florida Department of Transportation) temporary road closure permit application.
