A RESOLUfION APPROVING THE EXPANSION OF THE
BOUNDARIES OF COLLIER MOSQUITO CONTROL
DISTRICT, PURSUANT TO SECTION 388.211, FLORIDA
STATurES
WHEREAS, a Mosquito Control District was created in Collier County in 1950 encompassing
six square miles with expansions occurring in 1963, 1971, 1972, 1982 and 1989, increasing its size to
approximately 243 square miles; and
WHEREAS, after research and consideration, it is the present desire of the Board of
Commissioners of the Collier Mosquito Control District to again expand the District's boundaries to
include:
1. The following real property hereinafter described as "Phase 1":
Township 48S - Range 26E: Sections 13,24,25 and 36
Township 48S - Range 27E: Sections 17,18,19,20,29,30,31 and 32
Golden Gate Estates Unit Number 53
Township 49S - Range 26E: Sections 24, 25 and 36
Golden Gate Estates Unit Numbers 5, 6 and 15
Township 49S - Range 27E: Sections 20, 29, 30, 31, 32.
Golden Gate Estates Unit Numbers 7, 8, 9, to, 193,194 and 195
2. The following real property hereinafter described as "Phase 2":
Township 485-Range 27E: Sections 14 and 23
Golden Gate Estates Unit Numbers: 17,18,19,20,21,22,23,24,36,37,38,52
and 59
Township 49S-Range 27E: Sections 14, 15, 16,21,22,23,26,27,28,33,34,35
Golden Gate Estates Unit Numbers 11, 12, 13, 14, 48 and 49
WHEREAS, the Collier Mosquito Control District has resolved in regular session on May 16,
2000, a copy of the Collier Mosquito Control District's resolution (Resolution 3-1999-2(00) is
attached hereto as Exhibit "A", to request the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County,
Florida, to approve the expansion of the boundaries of the Collier Mosquito Control District; and
WHEREAS, Section 388.211, Florida Statutes, provides that the Board of Commissioners of
any Mosquito Control District formed prior to July I, 1980, may, for and on behalf of the District or
the qualified electors within or without the District, request that the Board of County Commissioners
in each county having land within the District approve a change in the boundaries of the District; and
WHEREAS, based upon the presentation of the Collier Mosquito Control District before the
Board of County Commissioners at its May 23, 2000 public meeting, the Board of Collier County
Commissioners finds that the proposed expansion of the Collier Mosquito Control District is in the
best interest of the citizens of Collier County and will serve a public need by reducing mosquito
related problems.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA. that:
1) Pursuant to Section 388.211(1), Florida Statutes, and the request of the Board of
Commissioners of the Collier Mosquito Control District, the Board of County Commissioners of
Collier County hereby approves the expansion of the Collier Mosquito Control District boundaries to
include:
1. The following real property hereinafter described as "Phase 1":
Township 48S - Range 26E: Sections 13,24,25 and 36
Township 48S - Range 27E: Sections 17,18,19,20,29,30,31 and 32
Golden Gate Estates Unit Number 53
Township 49S - Range 26E: Sections 24, 25 and 36
Golden Gate Estates Unit Numbers 5, 6 and 15
Township 49S - Range 27E: Sections 20, 29, 30, 31, 32.
Golden Gate Estates Unit Numbers 7, 8, 9, to, 193, 194 and 195
2. The following real property hereinafter described as "Phase 2":

2) The Board of County Commissioners recognizes that an amendment shall be made by
the Collier Mosquito Control District to the order creating the Collier Mosquito Control District to
conform with the approved boundary change.
This Resolution adopted this 23rd day of May, 2000 after motion, second and majority vote
favoring same.
