EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve two (2) Releases of Lien securing grants made from the State Housing
Initiatives Partnership and Community Development Block Grant programs in accordance with
Resolution No. 18-58 due to the death of the homeowners in the aggregate amount of $26,684.75.
OBJECTIVE: To release two (2) liens due to the death of the homeowners.
CONSIDERATIONS: The homeowners received grant assistance through the Community Development
Block Grant (CDBG) program and the State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) program. The CDBG
loan was issued in 2004 and had a five (5) year affordability period that ceased in 2009. The SHIP loan
was issued in 2002 with a twenty (20) year affordability period.
Resolution No. 18-58 provides that in the event of the death of the borrowers, all debt will be forgiven for
all affordable housing programs administered by Collier County Community and Human Services
Division (CHS). Both Mr. and Mrs. Miller have passed away. A Certificate of Death for Mr s. Elnora
Miller and Samuel Miller were provided to CHS, thus triggering the release of lien.
Approval of this Item will authorize the Chairman to sign releases for the aforementioned mortgages and
the executed document shall be recorded in the Public Records of Collier County, Florida.

(791), Project 33569. The $10 recording fee associated with the CDBG r elease will be paid by Grant fund
(705), Project 33580.

Executive Summary.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This Item is approved as to form and legality and requires a majority
vot e for Board of County Commissioners approval. -JAB
RECOMMENDATION: To approve and sign two (2) releases of mortgages due to the death of the
owners pursuant to Resolution No. 18-58.
