EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Commissioner request for Board approyal for payment to attend function serYing a yalid
public purpose.
OBJECTIVE: For the Board of County Commissioners to declare a valid public purpose for a
Commissioner to attend function/event and approve payment by the Clerk.
CONSIDERATIONS: Pursuant to resolution 1\0. 99-4l O. the Board of County Commissioners
has determined that attendanee at the functions of fratemal, business, environmental,
educational, charitable, social. professional, trade, homeowners, ethnic, and CIVIC
associations/organizations serves a valid public purpose, provided that said functions reasonably
relate to Collier County matters.
COMMISSIONER: Frank Halas
FUNCTION/EVENT: EDC VIP Breakfast. held at The Hilton Naples in Naples on Thursday,
February 7, 2008.
PUBLIC PURPOSE: Meet and interact with local business and community leaders.

FISCAL IMPACT: $20.00 Funds to be paid fmm Commissioner's travel budget.
RECOMMEND.'\. TION: That the Board of County Commissioners, in accordance with
resolution No. 99-410, approve reimbursement by the Clcrk for meals provided to Commissioner
Frank Halas while serving a valid public purpose.
