APPOINTMENT OF MEMBER(S) TO THE COLLIER COUNTY PLANNING
COMMISSION
OBJECTIVE: To appoint I member to fulfill the remainder ofa vacant term representing
Commission District 3, expiring on October 1,2009, to the Collier County Planning
Commission.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Collier County Planning Commission has I vacancy due to a
resignation with the tenn expiring on October I, 2009, representing Commission District 3.
This 9 member committee assists in the formulation and review ofthe Comprehensive Land Use
Plan, Land Development Code, and amendments to both, and then submits their
recommendations to the Board J()r final decision. In 2003, the Board of County Commissioners
amended the LDC to include a non-voting member of the School Board. Members are required
to file a Form I, Statement of Financial Interest each year with the Supervisor of Elections.

for the current vacancy on the Collier County Planning Commission (CCPC). This
vacancy was created with the resignation by Russell Tuffwho represented Commission
District 3. As noted in your memo of 1/4/08, the following individuals have applied to fill
this vacancy:

Mr. David Wolfley (Former member of the CCPC)
Based upon the information contained in their resumes, both individuals are qualified to
serve on this advisory board. In addition, both currently reside in Commission District 3.
As a result, their applications are consistent with Section 8.03.02.B of the LDC.

This 9 member committee was created by authority of Chapter 67-1246, Laws of FL. On
09/03/85 the BCC adopted Res. No. 85-190, expressing intent to consider an ordinance
consolidating functions of Coastal Area Planning Commission and Immokalee Area Planning
Commission into CCPC. On 09/24/85, Ord. No. 85-51 created the CCPC, which was repealed
by LDC Ord. 91-102. This committee assists in the formulation and review of the
Comprehensive Land Use Plan, Land Development Code, and amendments to both, and then
submits their recommendations to the Board for final decision. Members are required to file a
Form 1 Statement of Financial Interest each year with the Supervisor of Elections. Terms are 4
years.
On 1-8-03 at an LDC Mtg the BCC amended the LDC (sec. 5.2,3.2) to include a member of the
School Board. The BCC detennined on 10/14/03 that they will be a non-voting member.

I Previously: solely entered market for a new cable television and telephone service provider to
MDU I PUD properties, and within the first year, with no existing service was able to successfully
negotiate 7,482 units locally and 5,298 Wlits nationally; as well as created a full Strategic
Marketing Plan and Multi-Unit Market Analysis.
. Sold over $300,000 in business telephone and peripheral hardware, and negotiated numerous long
distance contracts - both switched and dedicated access.
I Successfully negotiated over 200 cable television contracts representing 17,300 units with annual
revenue over $2,000,000 (contract values of $20,000,000).
I Built company from $70,000 to over $500,000 annual sales, doubled the number of accoWlts,
while showing a significant increase in per account income.
