APPOlNTMENT OF MEMBER(S) TO THE HABITAT CONSERVATION PLAN AD HOC
COMMITTEE
OBJECTIVE: To appoint 2 members to the Habitat Conservation Plan Ad Hoc Committee with
the tenns expiring on June ]4.2008, plus an additional 2 year tenn expiring on June 14,2010..
CONSIDERATIONS: The Habitat Conservation Plan Ad Hoc Advisory Committee has 3
vacancies. This committee was created on March 22, 2005, by Resolution No. 2005- i 74 and
amended on February 14, i 2006 by Resolution No. 2()06-41 to expand membership to 13
members. They will serve as a forum for community review and discussion regarding Habitat
Conservation I'ians (HCr). The committee is specifically tasked to evaluate the geographical
scope (cxcluding thc Rural Lands Stewardship !\rea) and coverage of an HC!' including the
species associated with the geographical scope, to idcntify the types of impacting activities
including County irrli'astructure needs, to identify the financial impacts of an HCI', to assess the
community supp011 for an HCI', and to identity afternatives to an HCr, if an HCI' is not deemed
feasible. The committee wili ultimately provide its findings and recommendations to the Board

Mr. Richard Gill resigned on January 24. 2007, Mr. Brian McMahon resigned on March 27,

In response to the Habitat Conservation Plan Committee's 2 vacant positions, 2 applications were
received and evaluated by the Committee on December 17, 2007. 'There are no specific or unique
qualifications established for this Committee. The Habitat Conservation Plan Ad-Hoc Committee in a
vote of 7:0 voted to recommend Amber Crooks and Tom Cravens to fill the vacant positions.
