EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
COMMISSIONER REQUEST FOR BOARD APPROVAL FOR PAYMENT TO
ATTEND FUNCTION SERVING A VALID PUBLIC PURPOSE
OBJECTIVE: For the Board of County Commissioners to declare a valid public
purpose for a Commissioner to attend function/event and approve payment by the Clerk.
CONSIDERATIONS: Pursuant to Resolution No. 99-410, the Board of County
Commissioners has determined that attcndance at the functions of fraternal, business,
environmental, educational, charitable, social, professional, trade, homeowners, ethnic,
and civic association/organizations serves a yalid public purpose, provided that said
functions reasonably relate to Collier County matters.
COMMISSIONER: Donna Fiala
FUNCTION/EVENT: Marco Island YMCA Stan Gober's Roast
PUBLIC PURPOSE: To participate in the Marco Island YMCA Stan Gober's Roast and
network with constituents.
DATE OF FUNCTIONIEVENT: Thursday, March 20th, 2008
FISCAL IMPACT: $ 150.00 Funds to be paid from Commissioner's travel budget.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners, in aceordance with
Resolution No. 99-410, approve payment by the Clerk for Commissioner Donna Fiala to
attend function serving a valid public purpose.

World Famous Stan, of Stan's Idle Hour in GoodIand, Florida, is to be roasted in a
premier fund-raising event for the Marco Island YMCA. Table Sponsors are now
available for the Roast, and will be the exclusive method of ticket sales until Monday,
January 21, 2008. If seats remain after conclusion of the advance sale to table sponsors,
individual tickets will be sold for $150.00 beginning January 21,2008. The Roast is being
