Agenda 01/29/2008 Item #16D 2 Agenda Item No. 1602 January 29, 2008 Page 1 of 3 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Recommend Approval of a Beach Park Facilities Capital Fund (183) Budget Amendment moving $2,161.50 from Beach Access Landscape Project 902942 and $112,000.00 from Vanderbilt Beach Walkway Project 900921 to Vanderbilt Pedestrian Access No.3 Walkway Project 900451. OBJECTIVE: This requested Budget Amendment IS necessary to fund the cost of construction for the required public beach access. CONSIDERATIONS: The funds requested to be transferred within this Budget Amendment are in direct connection and association with multiple County-owned easement access points (Vanderbilt Beach Pedestrian Easements) located and situated throughout the perimeter of North Gulf Shore Drive Naples, Florida. Consistent with capital improvement projects staff recently submitted the Vanderbilt Beach Pedestrian Access #3 to FDEP (Florida Department of Environmental Protection) to obtain the required regulatory agency permits to construct this project; the permit process was executed on February 10, 2006, and is now complete; the project is currently ready for commencement of the formal construction bidding phase. This project represents the third of eight total County-owned pedestrian easement access points to receive capital improvements. With the close out of Beach Access Landscape Project 902942, and the transfer of funds from Vanderbilt Beach Walkway Project 900921 staff is requcsting that $2,161.50 and $112,000.00 respectively be transferred to the Vanderbilt Pedestrian Walkway Project No.3 in order proceed with construction. The current budget allocation for the Vanderbilt Pedestrian Walkway project was intended to fund only the cost of the design and permitting phase. COUNTY ATTORNEY FINDING: A finding by the County Attorney is not required for this item. FISCAL IMPACT: In order to accomplish the desired objective this Budget Amendment is required moving $2,161.50 from Beach Access Landscape Project 902942 and $1] 2,000.00 from Vanderbilt Beach Walkway Project 900921 to Vanderbilt Pedestrian Access Walkway Project 900451. GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no impact to the Growth Management Plan related to this action.
