EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
PRESENTATION TO THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS BY ANDREA
SIMS, WATERS-OLDANI EXECUTIVE RECRUITMENT, A DIVISION OF THE
WATERS CONSULTING GROUP, INC. AND PRESENTATION OF THE THIRTY-
FOUR APPLICANTS FOR THE COLLIER COUNTY ATTORNEY POSITION.
OBJECTIVE: To hear presentation and approve list of top ten finalists from a list of 34
applicants (spreadsheet attached) and set date for interviews by Board of County Commissioners.
CONSIDERATIONS: On June 26, 2007, the Purchasing Department was directed to solieit
proposals from qualified firms for the purpose of obtaining professional reeruiting services
related to the seareh for a ncw County Attomey.
At the Board Meeting on September II, 2007, the Board selected the firm Waters-Oldani
Executive Reeruitment, a division of The Waters Consulting Group, Ine. and authorized the
Purchasing Department to eonduet negotiations. On Oetober 23, 2007, the Board approved a
negotiated contraet with the seleeted firm in the amount of $28,000 and amended to $30,500 to
aceommodate an additional trip to Collier County.
Andrea B. Sims has been assigned as the point person on behalf of Waters-Oldani for the
reeruitInent serviees.
DISCUSSION ITEMS:
. Ms. Sims will make a presentation to BCC on January 29,2008 at 10:00 a.m.
. The Board will have the opportunity to diseuss the proeess with recruiter relating to
applicants.
. Ms. Sims will discuss the number of semi-finalists and the proeess in determining the
semi- finalists.
. BCC will approve or amend list of semi-finalists.
. BCC will approve of the next date Ms. Sims is seheduled to present the semifinalists and
a recommendation for the final five eandidates that they will interview and make a final
offer. (February 13,2008 or February 27, 2008)

RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners provide staff with further
direction on how to proceed in the County Attomey recruitment process.
