EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to award Bid #08-5037 to provide meals for the Senior Nutrition
Program for an estimated annual amount of $200,000. This program is fuuded by
the Older Americaus Act grant awarded to the Housing and Human Services
Department.
OBJECTIVE: To establish an annual contract for the preparation and delivery of meals
to senior dining sites and meal delivery services to home-bound seniors in Collier
County.
CONSIDERATIONS:
I. This bid is for the provision of congregate and home delivered meals to seniors in
Collier County.
2. Bid #08-5037 was posted on December 27, 2007. Eleven (II) inquiries were sent and
one (I) bid was received and opened on January 11,2008.
3. Staff has reviewed the bid and recommends award of Bid #08-5037 to GA Food
Service, Inc. as the sole responsive bidder.
FISCAL IMPACT: Funds for this service will be provided by the Older Americans Act
grant funded through the Area Agency. This grant was accepted by the Board of County
Commissioners on January 15, 2008
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners award Bid #08-
5037 for Senior Nutrition Services to GA Food Service, Inc.
