PROCLAMA TION
WHeREAS. the Veteran's Transportation Program is 0 cooperative effort
between the Collier County Board of County Commissioners and
the Collier County Veterans Council; and,
WHeREAS, the purpose of the Transportation Program is to provide free
transportation for Collier County veterans to VA health care
facilities in Ft MY"rs, Bay Pines. Tampo, and other facilities in
South Florida; and,
WHEREAS, the drivers in this Program are all volunteers who donate their
time and effort to see that our veterans receive needed
healthcare in a timely manner; and,
WHEREAS, the families of these volunteers also contribute ta the success of
this Program by supporting the volunteers and the goals of the
Transpo,...,ation Program: and,
WHeREAS, in 2007, our volunteer drivers donated Z,044 hours, transported
610 veterans, and logged 57,1 95 accident-free miles.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Conrmissioners
/- of Collier County, Florida, that we offer our appreciation and our
thanks to the volunteer drivers, office stoff. and their families
for their efforts in making the quality of life better for the
veterans in our community.
