EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to Award Collier County Bid #08-5042 Diesel Powered Lowboy Tractor
to Wallace International Trucks.
OBJECTIVE: To enhance the daily repair and maintenance on County roadways and right-of-
ways within the Road Maintenance Department.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Road Maintenance Department requires one (I) Diesel Powered
Lowboy Tractor as a replacement vehicle. Bid #08-5042 was publicly advertised on January 24,
2008. Notices were sent to forty (40) firms with seventeen (17) requesting full packages. Three
(3) responses were received by the due date of February 14,2008. Staff has reviewed the bids
and recommends the award of Bid #08-5042 to Wallace International Trucks,

FISCAL IMPACT: Sufficient budget exists within the Road Maintenance Fund (10]) Capital
Appropriation Unit to acquire the desired replacement equipment.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no Growth Management Impact associated
with this Executive Summary.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners approves the purchase of
one (I) Diesel Powered Lowboy Tractor per Bid #08-5042 from Wallace International Trucks in
the amount of$101,997.
