APPOINTMENT OF MEMBER(S) TO THE HABITAT CONSERVATION PLAN AD HOC
COMMITTEE
OBJECTIVE: To appoint one member with the term expiring on September 12, 2009, to the
Habitat Conservation Plan Ad Hoc Committee.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Habitat Conservation Plan Ad Hoc Advisory Committee has
vacancies. This committee was created on March 22,2005, by Resolution No. 2005-174
and amended on February 14, 12006 by Resolution No. 2006-41 to expand membership to 13
members. They will serve as a forum for community review and discussion regarding Habitat
Conservation Plans (HCP). The committee is specifically tasked to evaluate the geographical
scope (excluding the Rural Lands Stewardship Area) and coverage of an HCP including the
species associated with the geographical scope, to identifY the types of impacting activities
including County infrastructure needs, to identifY the financial impacts of an HCP, to assess the
community support for an HCP, and to identifY alternatives to an HCP, if an HCP is not deemed
feasible. The conunittee will ultimately provide its findings and recommendations to the Board
of County Commissioners. Terms are 3 years. A list of the current membership is included in
the backup.
The Board adopted Resolution No. 2006-41 approving the appointment of3 additional members.

In response to the Habitat Conservation Plan Committee's I vacant positions, 1 application was
received and evaluated by the Committee on February 27, 2008. There are no specific or unique

Ex erience:
'le attending high school I worked with Garry Indianer as part of World Class Collier until I
raduated in 2000 and attended college at the University of Central FL. I kept my permanent address
n Naples through out my college career as I spent every weekend here with my family and wished to
e able to continue voting on issues concerning my community. Following graduation from UCF I
eturned to Naples. I later accepted a position with AG Edwards in Orlando with hopes of returning to
aples. I attended the Police Academy and was employed by Naples Police Department before being
ffered a commission in the United States Army as an Officer. I completed Infantry training at the
nited States Infantry School at Fort Benning, followed by Officer Candidacy School. Unfortunately
uring my tenure with the Army a combination of factors created a serious heart problem prohibiting
e from front line combat as an officer. I received an Honorable Discharge and returned to Naples
here 1 am currently the Director of Business Development for Kent Security Services. Collier
ounty and Naples has always been my home, my final goal has never wavered from returning to it. I
an no longer serve my country as a soldier; however I feel that I can serve my county, my
ommunity. I am interested in preserving the balance between our environment and growth and safety
