EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation that the Collier County Board of County Commissioners
approve a budget amendment in the amount of $54,083 to fund engineering,
environmental and construction services for additional work for the mitigation
project at Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve required by the
South Florida Water Management District and the Army Corps of Engineers'
permits for the Marco Island Executive Airport
OBJECTIVE: That the Collier County Board of County Commissioners approve a
budget amendment in the amount $54,083 to fund mitigation at Rookery Bay National
Estuarine Research Reserve (Rookery Bay) to meet South Florida Water Management
District (SFWMD) and the Army Corps of Engineers' (Corps) permit requirements for
the Marco Island Executive airport.

CONSIDERATIONS: The SFWMD permit requires certain engineering, environmental
and construction services, including one additional geoweb swale berm improvement
($42,583), survey services ($4,500), construction oversight ($5,000), and as-built
plans ($2,000), that were excluded from the original contract documents. The total
cost for these additional services is $54,083.
A Budget Amendment increase is required to fund these additional services.
FISCAL IMPACT: The fiscal impact of this Budget Amendment request is an
increase in the Airport Authority General Fund transfer in the amount of $54,083.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no Growth Management Impact
associated with this Executive Summary.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Collier County Board of County Commissioners
approve a budget amendment in the amount of $54,083 to fund engineering,
environmental and construction services for additional work for the mitigation project at
Rookery Bay required by the South Florida Water Management District and the Army
Corps of Engineers' permits for the Marco Island Executive Airport.

RESOLUTION OF THE COLLIER COUNTY AIRPORT AUTHORITY APPROVING THE
SUBMITTAL OF A BUDGET AMENDMENT REQUEST TO THE COLLIER COUNTY
'--- BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS FOR AN AMOUNT UP TO $60,000 TO FUND
ENGINEERING, ENVIRONMENTAL, AND CONSTRUCTION SERVICES FOR
ADDITIONAL WORK FOR THE MITIGATION PROJECT AT ROOKERY BAY
REQUIRED BY SOUTH FLORIDA WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT AND THE ARMY
CORPS OF ENGINEERS' PERMIT FOR THE MARCO ISLAND EXECUTIVE AIRPORT.
WHEREAS, the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) permit requires certain
engineering, design, environmental and construction services that were excluded from the original
contract documents; and
WHEREAS, the estimated cost for these additional services is $60,000; and
WHEREAS, a Budget Amendment increase is required to fund these services; and
WHEREAS, the fiscal impact of this Budget Amendment request is an increase in the Airport
Authority General Fund transfer in an amount up to $60,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE COLLIER COUNTY
AIRPORT AUTHORITY, that the Authority approves the submittal of a Budget Amendment request
to the Collier County Board of County Commissioners for an amount up to $60,000 to fund
engineering, environmental, and construction services for additional work for the mitigation project at
Rookery Bay required by the SFWMD permit for the Marco Island Executive Airport.
PASSED AND DULY ADOPTED by affirmative majority vote of the Collier County Airport
Authority this lIth day of Februarv 2008.
