EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve a budget amendment to purchase a computer
and additional operating supplies and appropriate $4,000 of reserve for
cash balance of the University Extension Trust Fund.
OBJECTIVE: To obtain approval from the Board of County Commissioners for a
budget amendment to appropriate $4,000 of reserve for cash balance into the University
Extension Trust Fund for the expenditure of data processing equipment and other
operating supplies.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Collier County University Extension Trust Fund comprises
donations from organizations and individual citizens to support educational programs
offered through the extension.
The purchase of additional data processing equipment and other operating supplies
were not originally bUdgeted for this fiscai year because we did not foresee the need for
additional equipment or implementation of a new program during the budget process.
These expenditures will enhance the operation of Master Gardener Plant Clinic and a
new Sea GranVMarine Science outreach program.
FISCAL IMPACT: The reserves and requested expenditures are within the University
Extension Trust Fund (604) and there is no impact to the General Fund.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: No growth management impact with this
action.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners approve a budget
amendment to purchase a computer and additional operating supplies and appropriate
$4,000 of reserve for cash balance of the University Extension Trust Fund.
