EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to amend award of Bid Number 07-4181 for landscaping maintenance of
Public Utilities Division facilities to rescind award to Florida Land Maintenance and award
to Amera Tech Incorporated in the estimated amount of $142,312.
OBJECTIVE: The object is to obtain approval from the Board of County Conunissioners, Ex-
Officio the governing Board of the Collier County Water-Sewer District to amend award of Bid
Number 07-4181 rescinding award of areas to Florida Land Maintenance and award those areas
to Amera Tech Incorporated.
CONSIDERATIONS: At the November 27, 2007, Board of County Commissioners Meeting,
Item 16C3, awarded the landscape maintenance required for the Solid Waste and Wastewater
Departments to Florida Land Maintenance. After the award Florida Land Maintenance refused
to sign a contract to provide the service as awarded.
The Purchasing Department opened negotiations with Amera Tech Incorporated to complete the
work required for Area 3 and Sections 4 and 5. Amera Tech's original submitted bid was
$217,801, but through negotiations the Purchasing Department obtained a final price of
$142,312.

FISCAL IMPACT: Funds are available within the Solid Waste and Wastewater Departments.
Source of funds is the County Water/Sewer Fund (408) and Solid Waste Disposal Fund (470).
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no impact on the County's Growth
Management Plan,
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Conunissioners, Ex-Officio the governing
Board of the Collier County Water-Sewer District amend award of Bid Number 07-4181
rescinding award of two areas to Florida Land Maintenance and award those areas to Amera
Tech Incorporated.
