EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to Award Collier County Bid #08-5050 Diesel Powered Refuse Loader to
Wallace International Trucks.
OBJECTIVE: To enhance the daily repair and maintenance on County roadways and right-of-
ways within the Road Maintenance Department.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Road Maintenance Department requires one (I) Diesel Powered
Refuse Loader as a replacement vehicle, Bid #08-5050 was publicly advertised on February 5,
2008, Notices were sent to forty eight (48) firms with twenty two (22) requesting full packages.
Two (2) responses were received by the due date of February 28, 2008. Staff has reviewed the
bids and recommends the award of Bid #08-5050 to Wallace International Trucks.

$192,218.84
FISCAL IMPACT: Sufficient budget exists within the Road Maintenance Fund (101) Capital
Appropriation Unit to acquire the desired replaccment equipment.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no Growth Management Impact associated
with this Executive Summary.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners approves the purchase of
one (I) Diesel Powered Refuse Loader per Bid #08-5050 from Wallace International Trucks in
the amount of$184,983.00,
