THAT THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS RECOGNIZE THE
FINAL DISPOSITION OF FUNDS COLLECTED UNDER ORDINANCE 04-42
BY THE CLERK OF COURTS TO FUND THE COLLIER COUNTY JUVENILE
ASSESSMENT CENTER AGREEMENT WITH THE DAVID LAWRENCE
CENTER.
OBJECTIVE: To inform the Board of final disposition of funds collected by the Court
system to fund the Juvenile Assessment Center. The Clerk of the Circuit Court is acting
in a ministerial capacity for the administration of the contract with the David Lawrence
Center.
BACKGROUND: On November 19, 2004 the Clerk of Courts, at the request of the
Juvenile Justice Advisory Committee entered into an agreement with the David Lawrence
Center for operations of the Juvenile Assessment Center.
The Clerk's office received $97,185 in revenue under ordinance 04-42 in the year ended
September 30, 2007. This was used with interest of $638 and fund carry forward of
$2,177 to pay the contract with the David Lawrence Center at $100,000 for one year of
service.
FISCAL IMP ACT: There is no fiscal impact from this executive swnmary,
RECOMMENDATION: This IS for informational purposes only and no action is
necessary.
