EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to award Bid #08-5055, "The Purchase and Delivery of Fertilizer," to the
Agriliance (dba ProSource One) and Florikan ESA Corp for the annual fertilizer providers
at an estimated annual expenditure of $200,000.00
OBJECTIVE: Award Bid #08-5055, "The Purchase and Delivery of Fertilizer," to the
Agriliance (dba Pro-Source One) and Florikan ESA Corp for the annual fertilizer providers.
CONSIDERATIONS: On March 3, 2008, the Purchasing Department publicly posted the
request for the sealed bids for the purchase and delivery of fertilizer. Twenty-six (26) notices
were sent and eleven (11) notices were downloaded from the Purchasing website. Three (3)
sealed bids were received on March 14, 2008. Staff reviewed the bids and recommends awarding
the bid to Agriliance (dba ProSource One) and Florikan ESA Corp. Agriliance (dba ProSource
One) was able to provide pricing in each category needed at the lowest price with exception of
one product which, Florikan ESA Corp provided at the lowest responsive pricing for purchase
and delivery.
The bid tabulation states "NB" or "No Bid", those items listed as no bid under Agriliance (dba
ProSource One) will not be utilized by the County. Forestry Resources is not being awarded the
bid because they could not meet the specification requirements and did not provide a low bid.

FISCAL IMPACT: Funds for this contract are budgeted in FY 08 in the Landscaping General
Fund (Ill), Cost Centers 163801 to 163887, Pelican Bay Services Dept. and Parks & Recreation
Dept.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated
with this Executive Summary.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners award the Bid #08-5055
"The Purchase and Delivery of Fertilizer" to the Agriliance (dba Pro-Source One) and Florikan
ESA Corp for the annual fertilizer providers.
