EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to ratify an addition to, a modification of and a deletion from
the 2008 Fiscal Year Pay and Classification Plan made from January 1, 2008
through March 31, 2008.
OBJECTIVE: To obtain approval from the Board of County Commissioners to ratify an
addition to, a modification of and a deletion from the 2008 Fiscal Year Pay and
Classification Plan.
CONSIDERATIONS: Attached, as Exhibit 1, are an addition to, a modification of and a
deletion from the County's 2008 Fiscal Year Pay and Classification Plan that were made
between January 1, 2008 and March 31, 2008. The addition is a new classification
which resulted from the combination of the Engineering and Environmental Services
departments within CDES. The modification is the result of the reduction of the
minimum qualifications for a classification. The deletion is the result of the
obsolescence of a classification in the Museum system.
FISCAL IMPACT: The fiscal impact to the County is that the hiring rate for seasonal
employees for the Parks and Recreation Department in FY '08 will be 48 cents per hour
less than in FY '07. The total savings is estimated at $24,300.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact
associated with this Executive Summary.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners ratifies the addition
to, modification of and deletion from the 2008 Fiscal Year Pay and Classification Plan.
