Dear Mr. Kuehner: Please be advised that you are scheduled to appear before the Collier County Board of Commissioners at the meeting of April 22, 2008. regarding the above referenced subject. Your petition to the Board of County Commissioners will be limited to ten minutes. Please be advised that the Board will take no action on your petition at this meeting. However, your petition may be placed on a future agenda for consideration at the Board's discretion. If the subject matter is currently under litigation or is an on-going Code Enforcement case, the Board will hear the item but will not discuss the item after it has been presented. Therefore, your petition to the Board should be to advise them of your concern and the need for action by the Board at a future meeting. ("FNPS") and the Empowerment Alliance of Southwest Florida ("EASF"), two 501 (cX3) entities, have made application for a PUD rezone for a 30 acre tract on West Immokalee Drive in Immokalee, Florida, to be known as Esperanza Place. The matter appeared before the Environmental Advisory Council on April 2, 2008. After 2 X hours, and unsuccessful votes to approve, deny or continue, the matter was finally continued until the Council's May S, 2008 meeting. As a result of this delay, the applicants may not be able to obtain approval of the requisite zoning prior to June 16, 2008, which date is the deadline for obtaining same to satisfy requirements of the 2008 Florida Housing Finance Agency's Universal Cycle Application. FNPS has applied for $13,000,000 of LDW Income Housing Tax Credits to build an 80 unit multifamily rental project for farm worker and others who earn 60% or less of AMI. A portion of those funds would also be used to pay the required $1,300,000 of Collier County impact fees. Should zoning approval not be granted at the Bee meeting on June 10,2008, this project will be delayed for a twelve month period. In these troubled economic times, the delay of a $13,000,000 construction project is very significant.
