Agenda 05/13/2008 Item #16J 1 Agenda Item No. 16J 1 May 13, 2008 Page 1 of 5 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Authorize the Supervisor of Elections to accept federal election activities funds with a 15% matching contribution, OBJECTIVE: To accept funds from the Department of State, Division of Elections for additional federal election activities beyond the Supervisor of Elections current programs. CONSIDERATIONS: The Division of Elections shall award Collier County Supervisor ofEleetions a total of$35,698.43, (see Attachment B). The 2007 Legislature appropriated $2,000,000 specifically for federal election activities. These funds will be distributed to the Supervisors of Election pursuant to a formula based on registered voters as of the 2006 General Election, as certified by the Department of State. In addition, the Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners will need to certify that the county will provide a 15% ($5,354.76) matching fund. The matching funds were included in the Supervisor of Elections 2007/2008 budget. FISCAL IMP ACT: The Collier County Supervisor of Elections will receive $35,698.43 from the Division of Elections to be appropriated in the Supervisor of Elections budget with definitive project tracking.
