EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to ratify and approve a pre-litigation fee dispute and settlement between
Collier County Emergency Medical Services and InsideOut Sports and Entertainment,
LLC, in the amount of $3,000.00 for services rendered in 2006 at the Champions Club
Naples Tennis Tournament.
OBJECTIVE: For the Board of County Commissioners to ratify and approve a pre-litigation
fee dispute and settlement between Collier County Emergency Medical Services and InsideOut
Sports and Entertainment, LLC, in the amount of $3,000.00 for services rendered in 2006 at the
Champions Club Naples Tennis Tournament.
CONSIDERATIONS: InsideOut Sports and Entertainment, LLC, is the founder and promoter
of the Champions Club Naples Tennis Tournament, which has been held for the past two years in
Naples, Florida. The Collier County Emergency Medical Services (hereinafter "EMS") provided
medical services in 2006 and 2007 for both events. EMS billed InsideOut Sports Entertainment,
LLC, $6,225,00 for its services rendered in 2006 and a little more than one-half of that amount
for its services rendered in 2007 for the special events. InsideOut Sports paid the monies due for
the 2007 event but disputed the amount due for the 2006 event After extensive negotiations,
EMS and InsideOut Sports negotiated a settlement of the 2006 claim for $3,000,00. The
$3,000.00 will cover all the outstanding costs.

FISCAL IMPACT: The settlement offer amounts to $3,000.00, which will be revenue
deposited into the EMS Fund,
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated
with this item.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: Both the County Attorney and EMS Chief opine that
settlement in the sum of $3,000.00 as a full payment for the services rendered in 2006 is
reasonable.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners ratify and approve the
settlement in the amount of $3,000.00 and authorize the Chairman of the Board of County
Commissioners to execute all necessmy documents.
