EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
COMMISSIONER REQUEST FOR BOARD APPROVAL FOR PAYMENT TO
ATTEND FUNCTION SERVING A VALID PUBLIC PURPOSE
OBJECTIVE: For the Board of County Commissioners to declare a valid public
purpose for a Commissioner to attend functionfevent and approve payment by the Clerk.
CONSIDERATIONS: Pursuant to Resolution No. 99-410, the Board of County
Commissioners has determined that attendance at the functions of fraternal, business,
environmental, educational, charitable, soeiaI, professional, trade, homeowners, ethnic,
and civic associationforganizations serves a valid public purpose, provided that said
functions reasonably relate to Collier County Illatters.
COMMISSIONER: Donna Fiala
FUNCTIONfEVENT: The Marco Island Foundation for the Arts Annual Meeting
PUBLIC PURPOSE: Is a member of the Foundation and as such attended the annual
meetittg. Supports this group in her community.
DATE OF FUNCTIONfEVENT: May 2,2008 @ 12:00 p.m. at The Marco Island
Yacht Club at 1400 N. Collier Blvd., Marco Island, FL.
FISCAL IMPACT: $35.00 Funds to be paid from Commissioner's travel budget.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners, in accordance with
Resolution No. 99-410, approve payment by the Clerk for Commissioner Donna Fiala to
attend function serving a valid public purpose.
