EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to reject RFP 08-5007, "Right-of-Way Easement Acquisition Services -
Golden Gate Boulevard." No Fiscal Impact.
OBJECTIVE: To reject Bid No. 08-5007 Right-of-Way (ROW) Easement Acquisition Services
for Golden Gate Boulevard.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Right-of~Way Department is responsible for the acquisition of real
property interests required for road improvement and expansion projects for Collier County.
Prior to the current economic situation, the Right-of-Way Department's proposed work program
was so demanding that it was determined that an outside consultant would need to be hired to
assist in the property acquisitions for the Golden Gate Boulevard expansion project. However,
the current work program is now reduced and the Right-of-Way Department is able to acquire all
the necessary real property interests utilizing its in-house acquisition agents. RFP 08~5007 was
issued on February I, 2008, soliciting contractors for ROW Easement Acquisition Services.
Notices were forwarded to 58 firms and eight (8) Proposals were received. Staff recommends
that the Board reject this solicitation.
FISCAL IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact in the approval of this Executive Summary.
r-. GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated
with this Executive Summary.
LEGAL CONSIDERATION: This request has been reviewed for legal sufficiency and has no
outstanding legal considerations. -HF A.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners reject RFP 08-5007 Right-
of-Way Easement Acquisition Services for Golden Gate Boulevard.
