RESOLUTION EXTENDING THE TERMS OF MEMBERS
OF THE COLLIER COUNTY AIRPORT AUTHORITY.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners, on November 14, 1995, adopted Collier
County Ordinance No. 95-67 which created the Collier County Airport Authority; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 95-67 provides that the Collier County Airport Authority shall
consist of seven (7) members that are residents of Collier County with business ability and
experience in one or more fields which include, but are not limited to, general business,
economic development, aviation, public affairs, law, finance, accounting, engineering, natural
resource conservation or other related fields; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 95-67 also provides that at least one of the seven (7) members
shall be from each of the communities ofImmokalee, Marco Island, and Everglades City; and
WHEREAS, the terms of four members will expire creating vacancies and a lack of quorum
for this board; and
WHEREAS, the terms of said members will need to be extended for a period of sixty days
in order to meet the requirements of establishing a quorum.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that:
I. The Board of County Commissioners hereby declares that a valid public emergency
exists with regard to the potential lack of a quorum for meetings of the Collier County Airport
Authority during the period of August 10, 2001 through October 10, 2001.
2. The extension of the terms of the below listed members is necessary to ensure a quorum
for the meetings of the Collier County Airport Authority during said period.
3. The terms of the following members are hereby extended for a period of one month; said
terms to expire on October 10, 2001.
