Recommendation to award Bid #08-5058 in the amount of $66,350 to Marine
Contracting Group, to replace the deck and pilings at Cocohatchee Park River
Marina.

Obiective: Approval to award Bid #08-5058 to Marine Contracting Group, in the
amount of $66,350 for the work to replace the deck and pilings at Cocohatchee Park.
Considerations: On May 2, 2008, staff sent a notice of bid #08-5058 for the
replacement of deck and pilings at Cocohatchee Park.
The request for bid included deck and piling materials to be supplied by the contractor,
labor to install the deck and pilings and to provide all equipment required to complete
the work. There were 128 notices sent out, 68 packages were requested and four
responsive bids were returned on May 22, 2008. The following bids were received:
Marine Contracting Group
Quality Enterprises USA, Inc.
Stemic Enterprises, Inc.
Janmac Construction Group, LLC

Staff reviewed the bids and recommended awarding the bid to Marine Contracting
Group as the lowest qualified and responsive contractor.
Fiscal Impact: Funds are currently budgeted in Cocohatchee Repair/Replace Dock project
80069 in Fund 306,
Growth Manaaement Impact: The value of the improved facility will be
inventoried in the Growth Management Plan.
Recommendation: That the Board of County Commissioners award the Bid to Marine
Contracting Group in the lump sum amount of $66,350.
