WHEREAS, blood cancers currently afflict ma"" than 894, 000 Americans with an
estimated 138, 530 new cases dlagnased each year; and.
WHEREAS, leukemia, Iymphama, and myelama will kill an estimated 52,910 pea pIe in
the I./nited States this year; and.
WHEREAS, The Leukemia and Lymphama Society, thraugh valuntary cantributians;, is
dedicated ta finding cu""s far these diseases thraugh ""search effarts
and the suppart far thase that suffer fram them; and.
WHEREAS, The Leukemia and Lymphama Society nKlintains an affice in 8anita
Springs ta support patients with these diseases and their family
members in the State af Flarida; and.
WHEREAS, the State af Flarida is similarly cammitted ta the eradicatian af these
diseases and supparfs the treatment af its citizens that $Uffer fram
them; and.
WHEREAS, thil State af Flarida encaurages private effarts ta enhancil ""search
funding and edu&atian programs; and.
WHEREAS, Callier Caunty jains The Leukemia & Lymphama Society ta ilnhance the
understanding af blaad-""Iated cancers and ta encaurage participatian In
valuntary activities ta support educational programs and thil funding af
