EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation that the Collier County Board of County Commissioners
approve a budget amendment in the amount of $15,000 for engineering services
required for the completion of a United States Department of Agriculture Rural
Business Enterprise Grant application for the Immokalee Regional Airport.
OBJECTIVE: That the Collier County Board of County Commissioners approve a
budget amendment in the amount $15,000 for engineering services required for the
completion of a United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Business
Enterprise Grant (RBEG) application for the Immokalee Regional Airport.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Collier County Airport Authority (Authority) submitted a grant
pre-application to the USDA for a RBEG in the amount of $495,000 for the Immokalee
Regional Airport. The USDA responded that the Authority's pre-application project is
eligible for funding by the USDA, and suggested the Authority submit a formal
application.
Certain engineering services are required in order to complete of the formal application
for this grant. URS Corporation has agreed to provide these engineering services for
$15,000.

A Budget Amendment of $15,000 is necessary to fund these engineering services
required for completion of the formal USDA grant application. Funds are available in the
Airport Authority Fund 497. If the Authority is awarded this RBEG, these funds will be
reimbursed from the grant.
FISCAL IMPACT: A budget amendment for Fiscal Year 2008 is needed to increase
the Immokalee Development USDA RBEG project and reduce reserves by $15,000 in
the Collier County Airport Authority Capital Fund 497.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no Growth Management Impact
associated with this Executive Summary.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Collier County Board of County Commissioners
approve a budget amendment in the amount of $15,000 to fund engineering services
required for the completion of a USDA RBEG application for the Immokalee Regional
Airport.

RESOLUTION NO. 08-28
RESOLUTION OF THE COLLIER COUNTY AIRPORT AUTHORITY (AUTHORITY)
RECOMMENDING THAT THE COLLIER COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS APPROVE A BUDGET AMENDMENT INCREASE [N THE
AMOUNT OF $15,000 FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES REQUIRED FOR
COMPLETION OF A UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE RURAL
BUSINESS ENTERPRISE GRANT APPLICATION FOR THE IMMOKALEE
REGIONAL AIRPORT. IF THE AUTHORITY IS A WARDED THE GRANT, THESE
FEES WILL BE REINBURSED FROM THE GRANT.
WHEREAS, the Collier County Airport Authority (Authority) submitted a grant pre-
application to the United States Dcpartment of Agriculture (USDA) for a Rural Business
Enterprise Granl (RBEG) in the amount of $495,000 for the lmmokalce Regional Airport; and
WHEREAS, the USDA responded that the Authority's pre-application project is eligible
for funding by the USDA, and suggested the Authority submit a formal application; and
WHEREAS, completion of the formal application requires certain engineering services;
and
WHEREAS, URS Corporation has agreed to provide these engineering services for
$15,000; and
WHEREAS, a Budget Amendment mcrease IS required to fund these engmeenng
services; and
WHEREAS, if the Authority is awarded this RBEG, thcse fWlds will bc reimbursed from
the grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE COLLIER COUNTY
AIRPORT AUTHORITY, that the Authority hereby recommends that the BeC approve a
budget amendmenl increase in the amount of $15,000 for engineering services required for the
completion of a USDA RBEG application for the lmmokalee Regional Airport.
PASSED AND DULY ADOPTED by affirmative majority vote of the Collier County Airport
Authority this 9th day of June 2008.
