EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation that the Collier County Board of County Commissioners
approve a budget amendment increase to the Airport Authority's Capital Fund in
the amount of $192,000 for the construction of an aircraft apron expansion at the
Immokalee Regional Airport.
OBJECTIVE: That the Collier County Board of County Commissioners approve a
budget amendment increase to the Airport Authority's Capital Fund in the amount
$192,000 for the construction of an aircraft apron expansion at the Immokalee Regional
Airport.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Immokalee Regional Airport five-year capital improvement
plan includes the construction of an aircraft apron expansion.
The aircraft apron expansion project consists of 8,850 square yards of asphalt. The
Airport Authority currently has a project that includes approximately half of this aircraft
apron expansion construction. The contractor has submitted a proposal to include the
remainder of the asphalt, for a total of 8,850 square yards. The proposal is for
$182,500, plus administration (approximately $2,000) and construction oversight
(approximately $7,500) for a total project cost of $192,000.
,~ This project is eligible for Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) funding at ninety-five
percent (95%) from the airports FY09 FAA entitlement fund. Projects that are eligible
for reimbursement from the airport entitlement funds do not require and cannot receive
prior approval from the FAA.
A Budget Amendment increase of $192,000 is necessary to fund this project. Ninety-
five percent (95%) of these funds ($182,400) will be reimbursed from FY09 airport
entitlement funds.
FISCAL IMPACT: A budget amendment for Fiscal Year 2008 is needed to increase
the Immokalee Regional Airport Aircraft Apron Expansion project by $192,000 and
recognize grant revenues in the amount of $182,400 and reduce reserves by $9,600 for
the match in the Immokalee Capital Fund 497.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no Growth Management Impact
associated with this Executive Summary.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Collier County Board of County Commissioners
approve a budget amendment increase to the Airport Authority's Capital Fund in the
amount of $192,000 to fund construction of the aircraft apron expansion at the
Immokalee Regional Airport.

RESOLUTION OF THE COLLIER COUNTY AIRPORT AUTHORITY RECOMMENDING
THE COLLIER COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS APPROVE A BUDGET
AMENDMENT INCREASE TO THE AIRPORT AUTHOIUTY'S CAPn AL FUND IN THE
AMOUNT OF $192,000 FOR CONSTRUCTION OF AN AIRCRAFT APRON EXPANSION
AT THE IMMOKALEE REGIONAL AIRPORT.
WHEREAS, the ]mmokalee Regional Airport five-year capital improvement plan includes the
construction of an aircraft apron expansion; and
WHEREAS, the aircraft apron project consists of 8,850 square yards of asphalt; and
\VHEREAS, the Collier County Airport Authority (Authority) currently has a project that
includes approximately half of this aircraft apron expansion construction; and

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE COLLIER COUNTY
AIRPORT AUTHORITY, that the Authority hereby recommends that the BCC approve a Budget
Amendment increase to the Airport Authorily's Capital Fund in the amounl of $192,000 to fund
construction of an aircraft apron cxpansion at the ]mmokalee Regional Airport.
PASSED AND DULY ADOPTED by affirmativc majority vote of the Collicr County Airport
Authority this 9th day of June 2008.
