EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve the First Amendment to Contract No. 08-5012,
"Cellular Communications Services & Equipment" with Sprint Solutions, Inc. to
lower the monthly service cost of wireless data services.
OBJECTIVE: To receive Board approval of the First Amendment to Contract No. 08-5012 to
provide savings to the County by lowering the monthly service cost of Blackberries.
CONSIDERATIONS: On February 26, 2008, the Board approved Agenda Item No. 16.E.4
authorizing Sprint Solutions, Inc. to provide Cellular Communications Services and Equipment.
This contract amendment will lower the monthly service cost of the Blackberry data plan from
$39.99 to $34.95, for a $5.00 savings per unit per month. The amendment will also reduce the
cost of wireless air cards from $57.75 to $41.99 for a savings of $15.76 per month per unit.
FISCAL IMPACT: Approval of this Amendment No.1 will provide an estimated annual savings
to the County of $61,000.00.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth impact associated with this executive
summary.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners approves the First
Amendment to Contract No. 08-5012 and authorizes the County Manager or his designee to
sign the Amendment.

FIRST AMENDMENT TO
CELLULAR COMMUNICATIONS SERVICES & EQUIPMENT
AGREEMENT NO. 08-5012
This First Amendment (#BSG0804.0413) is made to the Cellular Communications Services & Equipment Agreement No. 08-
5012 between SPRINT SOLUTIONS, INC. as contracting agent on behalf of the applicable Sprint affiliates providing the
Products and Services ("Sprint" or "Nextel") and Collier County, a political subdivision of the State of Florida, Collier County,
Naples, ("Customer"), entered into by Customer and Sprint on February 26.2008 (the "Agreement"),
The following modified and added terms and conditions are made a part of the Agreement effective on the first day of the first
billing month after this Amendment is signed by Sprint and Customer ("First Amendment Effective Date"),
Sprint and Customer agree as follows:
1. ADDtTIONS: The Agreement is amended in Exhibit C . Sprint Nextel Rate Plans, Section "Nextel National Network
Business Plans and Policies" by adding new Subsection 2.5 as follows:
2.5 NEXTEL BLACKBERRY SERVICE PLANS
A. Customer's use of the Research in Motion Limited ("RIM") Blackberry service offered by Sprint is subject
to acceptance of the RIM terms and conditions presented to Customer before Customer may download
the RIM software. The terms and condition for use of the Blackberry service are located at
htto://na.blackberrv.com/eno/leoallterms.isp, and are subject to change without prior notice to Customer.
B. Sprint did not manufacture the Blackberry products and is not responsible for any defects or for the acts
or omissions of the manufacturer, RIM. The only warranties on Customer's Blackberry products are any
limited warranties offered by RIM directly to Customer.
c. BlackBerry Plans can only be activated on a BlackBerry device.

4. All other terms and conditions in the Agreement, not amended above, will remain in effect This Amendment and any
information concerning its terms and conditions are Sprint's proprietary infonnation and are governed by the parties'
nondisclosure agreement. Alterations to this Amendment will not be valid unless accepted in writing by a Sprint
officer or authorized designee. To become effective, this Amendment must be signed by a Customer representative;
and signed by a Sprint officer or authorized designee.

4. ELECTRONIC BILLING PRODUCTS.
4.1 The following electronic billing products are offered for customers desiring electronic invoice data. Each
electronic billing product provides Customer-Liable Active Unit call detail record ("COW) information.
Sprint offers these products under the "Electronic Invoice Reporting and Analytics Product
Annex" which is available for review at www.sorint.com/ratesandconditions and can be attached
to this Agreement at Customer's request. The MRCs are as follows:

4.2 Customer may choose 1 electronic billing product, or eBilling & Analysis and either EDI or EBT.
Customer may not choose the EDI and EBT products together. Upon 30 days prior written notice, Sprint
reserves the right to migrate Customer to an updated or successor version of the selected electronic
billing product if available or to an entirely new electroniy billing product.
4.3 Customer will receive a summary invoice (without COR information) or a remittance invoice at no
additional charge. If Customer chooses to receive a detailed paper invoice along with an electronic
billing product, the following MRCs will apply,
