EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to award Bid #08-5065 for the Installation of "Immokalee
Beautification Phase IV Street Lighting Renovation Project - JPA FM #407977" to
Bentley Electric in the amount of $1,176,060.87
OBJECTIVE: To accomplish the installation of lighting per Immokalee Beautification
Phase IV Street Lighting Renovation Project in accordance with JP A 407977 as Board of
County Commissioners approved on June 22, 2004 and as per Irnmokalee MSTU
Ordinance 92-40.
CONSIDERATIONS:

. The Board of County Commissioners on June 22, 2004, Item l6.B.12 approved
JP A FM #407977 for a total of $300,000 in FOOT Funding.
. On May 5, 2008, the Purchasing Department sent notices to 492 vendors for the
Immokalee Beautification Phase IV Street Lighting Renovation Project, there
were sixty five (65) packages requested for this bid.
. On May 19, 2008 at lOam., a non-mandatory pre-bid meeting was held.
. On June 5, 2008 at 2;30 p.m. four (4) bids were opened. Staff reviewed the unit
pricing on the bid tabulation and recommends award of this bid to Bentley
Electric as the lowest, qualified, and responsi ve bidder.
FISCAL IMPACT: The bid for this contract totals $1,176,060.87. Within the current
fiscal year 2008 Immokalee Beautification MSTU budget, $1,019,590 in available capital
budget exists to begin this project. Therefore, a partial purchase order in the amount of
$1,019,590 will be processed. During fiscal year 2009, the balance of this contract or
$156,470.87 will be added to the existing purchase order. The timing of this second
purchase order will be dependent upon the project draw schedule and the receipt of fiscal
year 2009 property tax revenue within the district. FOOT reimbursement in the amount of
$300,000 is anticipated pursuant to JPA agreement FM # 407977.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no grO\vth management impact
associated with this Executive Summary.

LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: The proposed award of this bid is legally sufficient for
the Board's consideration and approval.-HFCA
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners award Bid #08-
5065 for the installation of the Immokalee Beautification Phase IV Street Lighting
Renovation Project to Bentley Electric and authorize the Chairman to execute the
standard contract after review by the County Attorney's Office.
