EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation that the Board of County Commissioners approves budget
amendments in the amount of $20,000 to reduce the transfer of excess funds from
the Law Library Fund (640) to Court Innovations Fund (192); reduce reserves in
Court Innovations Fund (192).
To fund the purchase of books for the Law Library as approved.
CONSIDERATIONS: An Executive Summary and budget amendments were approved
by the Board of County Commissioners on September 11, 2007 by Agenda Item 16176 for
the purchase of books at the Law Library. The Law Library staff was unable to process
the necessary warrant to facilitate this purchase prior to the close of the fiscal year.
Consequently, the purchase has occurred in the current fiscal year (2008), causing a
deficit in their budget.
FISCAL IMPACT: Reserves in the Court Innovations Fund (192) will be reduced by
$20,000.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners approves the
budget amendments necessary to reduce the transfer of these excess funds to
accommodate this budget shortfall due to the purchase of books as approved in the prior
fiscal year.
