EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to recognize Richard Zyvoloski, Emergency Management
Coordinator, Bureau of Emergency Services as Employee of the Month for
June 2008.
OBJECTIVE: To obtain approval from the Board of County Commissioners to recognize
Richard Zyvoloski, Emergency Management Coordinator, Bureau of Emergency
Services as Employee of the Month for June 2008.
CONSIDERATIONS: Richard Zyvoloski, Emergency Management Coordinator, has
been nominated as the "Employee of the Month" for June 2008. Richard is a valuable
member of the team who has been extremely successful in putting his professional
knowledge of emergency management to use during actual disasters.
For more than twenty years, Rick has been involved in activities geared toward
protecting the lives and properties of County residents and visitors as both an
emergency manager and a volunteer. As one of the County's emergency coordinators
he works side by side with local and state representatives to manage hazard mitigation
planning. He has also been instrumental in supporting emergency responders during a
dozen presidential- declared emergencies. Rick is recognized as a leader in the field of
emergency management. Due to his extensive experience he has been asked to speak
at several conferences throughout the state. Most recently Rick was recognized with a
Lifetime Achievement Award for his substantial contributions and accomplishments at
the 2008 Governor's Hurricane Conference. He continues to work above and beyond
his normal duties to promote and improve the emergency management profession. His
experience and outstanding record of volunteer participation make him an ideal
candidate for "Employee of the Month."
FISCAL IMPACT: The selected "Employee of the Month" receives a $150.00 cash
award. Funds are available in the employee's Budget Cost Center.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact
associated with this Executive Summary.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners approves the
recognition of Richard Zyvoloski as "Employee of the Month" for June 2008.
