WHEREAS, long -time Naples resident Murray Hendel is President of the
Gulf Shore Association of Condominiums and Vice Chairman of
the Collier County Presidents Council, • and
WHEREAS, Mr. Hendel also serves as Vice Chairman of the Tourist
Development Council working diligently to insure the vitality of
the tourism Industry for Collier County, and
WHEREAS, Mr. Hendel also served as past President of the Holocaust
Museum of Southwest Florida where he continues to be
instrumental in the educational pro gram involving the World War
II Boxcar; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Hendel celebrated his 80* birthday on September 25,
2008; and
WHEREAS, his continuous involvement in the civic community speaks volumes
for his thoughtfulness and selfless dedication to the residents
and visitors of Collier County; and
WHEREAS, we would like to thank him for the time and effort he has
contributed to our community; • and
WHEREAS, we would also like to extend our gratitude to his wife, Pauline,
for the sacrifices she has made in allowing Murray to make such
a contribution to our community. .:
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of
Collier County, Florida, that October 14, 2008, be designated
as
MURRAY HENDEL DAY
