Recommendation to award Bid No. 08-5110, "Portable Toilet Rentals" to United Site
Services of Florida, Inc. as the primary and Ron's Jons Porta Potty Rentals as the
secondary for portable toilet rental services for an estimated annual amount of
$45,000.
OBJECTIVE: To obtain approval from the Board of County Commissioners to award Bid No, 08-
5110 "Portable Toilet Rentals" to United Site Services of Florida, Inc, as the primary and Ron's Jons
Porta Potty Rentals as the secondary for portable toilet rental services for an estimated annual
amount of $45,000,
CONSIDERATION: Various County Departments throughout the year require the use of portable
toilets for various County facilities and County-sponsored events,
In an effort to provide competitive contracted toilet rental services, a formal bid was prepared to
solicit competent toilet rental services, On August 1, 2008, formal bid notices were posted and
distributed to 75 vendors, On August 14, 2008, bids were opened from 4 firms,
County staff recommends the award of Bid #08-5110 to the two lowest qualified bidders, A tie
between the two lowest qualified bidders was broken pursuant to Collier County Purchasing Policy,
resulting in United Site Services of Florida, Inc, being selected as the primary and Ron's Johns
Porta Potty Rentals as the secondary,
FISCAL IMPACT: Annual expenses for portable toilet rental services total an estimated $45,000,
Funds are budgeted under the various department's operating budgets,
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with this
request.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney's Office and is
legally sufficient for Board Action, -JAK
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners awards Bid No, 08-5110
"Portable Toilet Rentals" to United Site Services of Florida, Inc, as the primary and Ron's Jons
Porta Potty Rentals as the secondary for portable toilet rental services,
