T~ 1 diabetes is one of the most common chronic diseases to affect chl'ldren of all ages.

NOW THEREFOR€, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County, Florida
that the month Df November, 2008 be designated os
AMERICAN DIABETES MONTH
and call upon the people of Collier County to 'iomhat this disease and its life-threatening
complications by familiarizing themselves with, the diabetes warning signs, making healthy
lifestyle choices and by accessing the best qUality of core that Collier County provides to
its citizens with diabetes.
