EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
COMMISSIONER REQUEST FOR BOARD APPROVAL FOR PAYMENT TO
ATTEND FUNCTION SERVING A VALID PUBLIC PURPOSE
OBJECTIVE: For the Board of County Commissioners to declare a valid public
purpose for a Commissioner to attend function/event and approve payment by the Clerk.
CONSIDERATIONS: Pursuant to Resolution No. 99-4 1 0, the Board of County
Commissioners has determined that attendance at the functions of fraternal, business,
environmental, educational, charitable, social, professional, trade, homeowners, ethnic,
and civic association/organizations serves a valid public purpose. provided that said
functions reasonably relate to Collier County matters.

FUNCTION/EVENT: Windstar Club Cocktail Reception Benefiting the Boys and Girls
Club
PUBLIC PURPOSE: Meet and interact with local business and cOlmnunity leaders.

FISCAL IMPACT: $75.00 Funds to be paid from Commissioner's travel budget.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners, in accordance with
Resolution No, 99-410, approve payment by the Clerk for Commissioner Donna Fiala to
attend function serving a valid public purpose,

Windstar Club is proud to announce their Pro-Am Golf event November
22nd, 2008 in celebration of its 25th Anniversary of Incorporation.The event
wiJI honor Tom Fazio, Windstar's Golf Course Architect and world-renowned
golf course designer and benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Collier County.
Windstar is committed to giving back to the community and has pledged
$25,000, to coincide with the anniversary, to the Boys & Girls Club to support
their service to over 1,300 at risk youth daily at their 4 sites. The Boys & Girls
Club mission is to enable all young people, especially those from
disadvantaged circumstances, to reach their full potential as productive,
caring, responsible, citizens.
Windstar on Naples Bay is the only gated Country Club community
located directly on Naples Bay in Southwest Florida. Windstar on Naples Bay
is just seven minutes from the heart of Old Naples; one of the country's most
