EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation that the Board of County Commissioners approves
amendment A-1 to Contract # 08-5017 "Annual Contract for Countywide
Exotic Vegetation Removal " with Resource Restoration, Inc., Earth
Balance Corporation, Environmental Aquatic Control, Inc., and DeAngelo
Brothers, Inc. d/b/a Aquagenix to correct Compensation Terms and
Conditions language in the contracts to match language in the Executive
Summary that awarded the contracts.
OBJECTIVE: To amend Contract # 08-5017 to correct contract language which
provides that a request for quotation be received by one or more Contractors to
all of the firms under contract and from issuance of a Purchase Order to procure
services to a Work Order to procure services.
CONSIDERATIONS: The County has a continuing need for Countywide Exotic
Vegetation Removal Services. Four firms were awarded contracts to provide
these services. The Executive Summary, approved by the BCC on March 11,
2008,as item16.B.3, that awarded these agreements indicated that all four firms
will be notified to submit proposals for each project under this agreement and
that Work Orders will be issued for each assignment subject to the terms of the
contract. However, the contracts indicate that a request for a quotation will be
received from one or more firms and a Purchase Order will be prepared to
procure the services. To align the contract with the Executive Summary, the
Purchasing Department recommends amending the original contract to reflect
the language in the approved Executive Summary.
FISCAL IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact in connection with this Executive
Summary.
LEGAL CONSIDERATION: This item has been reviewed and approved by the
County Attorney's Office and is legally sufficient for Board action.-SRT
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: While these contracts have no direct
growth management impact, they are consistent with the County's long-term
growth plans.
RECOMMENDATIONS: That the Board of County Commissioners approve
contract amendments #A-1 to contracts issued pursuant to Bid# 08-5017 "Annual
Contract for Countywide Exotic Vegetation Removal.
