EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
TO RECONSIDER THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS DIRECTION FOR
THE EAC (ENVIRONMENTAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE) AND THE CCPC
(COLLIER COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION) TO HOLD A JOINT WORKSHOP
TO HEAR THE RLSA PHASE II REPORT.
OBJECTIVE: To reconsider the Board of County Commissioners direction for the EAC and
the CCPC to hold ajoint workshop to hear the RLSA Phase II report.
CONSIDERATIONS: After the Commissioners gave the direction at the November 18, 2008
BCC meeting to hold the joint workshop, 1 was told that both committees could not give
recommendations to the BCC in a workshop setting. The Commissioners value the
recommendation from our committees and this workshop would not result in feedback to the
Commissioners. Therefore, the Board of County Commissioners should direct the RLSA
committee to present their findings and recommendations from the EAC and CCPC separately in
order for all three Committees to make independent recommendations from each committee to
the BCC.

LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: NONE
RECOMMENDATION: To reconsider the Board of County Commissioners direction for the
EAC and the CCPC to hold a joint workshop to hear the RLSA Phase II report. The BCC should
direct the RLSA Committee to present their findings and their recommendations from the EAC
and the CCPC separately. Therefore, the Board of County Commissioners should direct the
RLSA committee to present their findings and recommendations from the EAC and CCPC
separately in order for all three Committees to make independent recommendations from each
committee to the BCC.
