PROCLAMA TION
WHEREAS, the safe use of hazardous material is essential to business,
industry and local governments to maintain economic stability, and
to protect the citizens of Florida; and,
WHEREAS, it is essential to plan and prepare for the accidental release of
hazardous materials to protect the well-being of all citizens and
visitors in Florida; and,
WHEREAS, in order to respond safely, response teams, such as fire, police,
and emergency medical services must know the types of hazardous
materials and chemicals that are being used and stored in the
event of an incident; and,
WHEREAS, all citizens have a Right-to-Know the types of hazardous materials
and chemicals in their communities, and a Right-to-Know the
proper procedures to take in case of an accident or emergency.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of
Collier County, Florida, that the week of JQJ7IJQry 18-24, 2009 be
desigMted as
Hazardous Materials Awareness Week
