PROCLAMA TION
WHEREAS, water is a basic and essential need of every living creature: and,
WHEREAS, the State of Florida, its Water Management Districts, and the Collier County
Water-Sewer District work together to increase awareness of the importance
of water conservation: and,
WHEREAS, Collier Caunty and the State of Florida have designated April - a typically dry
month when water demands are most acute - as Florida's Water Conservation
Month, to educate citizens about how they can help save Florida's precious
water resources: and,
WHEREAS, the Collier County Water-Sewer District has always encouraged and supported
water conservation through various educational programs and special events:
and,
WHEREAS, every business, industry, school, and citizen can make a difference when it
comes to conserving water, thus promoting a healthy economy and community:
and,
WHEREAS, Collier County Jains the State af Florida in calling upon each citizen to help
pratect our precious water resource by practicing water conservation
measures at home, at school, at work, and while at play.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier
County, Florida, that April, 2009 be designated as
WATER CONSERVATION MONTH
DONE AND ORDERED THIS 24th Day of March, 2009.
