PROCLAMA TION
WHEREAS, the Colombian Community of Southwest Florida would like to share
their culture and heritage with all, the people of Collier County;
and,
,
WHEREAS, the goal of the Colombia Association and Casa Hispana of Collier
County is to preserve and promote the Colombian heritage
throughout Collier County to enhance diversity and cross-cultural
understanding by social interaction and providing outreach and
educational programs; and,
WHEREAS, the mission of the Colombia Association and Casa HJ'spana of Collier
County is to encourage multi -cultural participation for the
Colombian Flag Day and to promote interaction within the various
cultural societies helping build cross-cultural understanding
throughout Southwest Florida by way of concerts, seminars, public
forums, and events related to Colombian and American History.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of
Collier County, Florida, that July 20, 2009 be designated as a day
to honor
Colombian Flag Day
