RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA,
RENAMING A SEGMENT OF A VlLA AVENUE TO
DONAHUE STREET, WHICH STREET SEGMENT IS
LOCATED WEST OF AVE MARIA BOULEVARD IN THE
TOWN OF AVE MARIA, SECTION 5, TOWNSHIP 48'" SOUTH,
RANGE 29 EAST, COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the legislature of the State of Florida by enacting ~ 336,05, Florida Statutes,
has conferred on all counties in Florida the power to name or rename streets and roads, except for
certain state roads; and
WHEREAS, Collier County pursuant thereto has adopted Collier County Ordinance No.
07-62, as codified in Chapter 22, Article X, ofthe Collier County Code of Laws and Ordinances,
which establishes 'criteria and procedures to rename streets or roads; and
WHEREAS, the Collier County Board of County Commissioners (Board) has held a
public hearing after providing notice as required by said ordinance and has considered the
advisability of granting the request by Ave Maria University, Inc., to rename the segment of
Avila Avenue lying west of Ave Maria Boulevard to Donahue Street. This street is located in
Section 5, Township 48 South, Range 29 East, Collier County, Florida, Ave Maria Phase One,
Tract U, according to the plat thereof, recorded in Plat Book 46, Pages 16 through 29, of the
Official Records of Collier County, Florida; and
WHEREAS, the Board has determined that all criteria set forth in Ordinance No, 07-62
have been met and specifically finds that there is no other street in incorporated or
unincorporated Collier County with this name or any similar sounding name as is being
requested; and
WHEREAS, the Board has detennined that it is necessary for identification purposes to
confirm the name ofthis street.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLlER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that:
Effective this date, the name of the street described in the above recitals is hereby
changed from Avila Avenue to Donahue Street, and is confirmed as such.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be recorded in the Public Records of
Collier County, Florida, and noted upon the maps of the street and zoning atlases of Collier
County, and notations made on the referenced Plat.
This Resolution adopted after motion, second and super majority vote this

NOTE: All Persons wishing to speak on any agenda item must register
with the County Administrator prior to presentation of the agenda

minutes on any item. The selection of an individual to speak on

the Chair, a spokesperson for a group or organization may be allotted

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be recorded in the Public Records of
Collier County, Florida, and noted upon the maps of the street and zoning atlases of Collier
County, and notations made on the referenced Plat.

RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA,
RENAMING A SEGMENT OF AVILA AVENUE TO
DONAHUE STREET, WHICH STREET SEGMENT IS
LOCATED WEST OF AVE MARIA BOULEVARD IN TRACT
U OF THE AVE MARIA PHASE ONE SUBDIVISION IN
SECTION 5, TOWNSHIP 48 SOUTH, RANGE 29 EAST,
COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA~ PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the legislature of the State of Florida by enacting S 336.05, Florida Statutes,
has conferred on all counties in Florida the power to name or rename streets and roads, except for
certain state roads~ and
WHEREAS, Collier County pursuant thereto has adopted Collier County Ordinance No.
07 -62, as codified in Chapter 22, Article X, of the Collier County Code of Laws and Ordinances,
which establishes criteria and procedures to rename streets or roads~ and
WHEREAS, the Collier County Board of County Commissioners (Board) has held a
public hearing after providing notice as required by said ordinance and has considered the
advisability of granting the request by Ave Maria University, Inc., to rename the segment of
Avila Avenue lying west of Ave Maria Boulevard to Donahue Street. This street is located in
Tract U, Ave Maria Phase One, according to the plat thereof, recorded in Plat Book 46, Pages 16
through 29, of the Official Records of Collier County, Florida; and
WHEREAS, the Board has determined that all criteria set forth in Ordinance No. 07-62
have been met and specifically finds that there is no other street in incorporated or
unincorporated Collier County with this name or any similar sounding name as is being
requested; and
WHEREAS, the Board has determined that it is necessary for identification purposes to
confirm the name of this street

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that:
Effective this date, the name of the street described in the above recitals is hereby
