RESOLUTION NO. 2002- 226
A RESOLUTION OF THE COLLIER COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS PERMITTING COLLIER COUNTY MUNICIPALITIES
TO RECOMMEND TOURIST DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL APPOINTEES.
WHEREAS, Florida Statutes, section 125.0104 (c) limits the
Tourist Development Council to nine (9) members; and
WHEREAS, the same statutory section provides for only one
seat for an elected official of the largest municipality and
only one seat for a second municipality; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners desires to have
more representation by Collier County municipalities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that:
Each municipality in the County not then
represented on the Tourist Development
Council, may recommend to the Board of County
Commissioners one or more persons, who mayor
may not be elected officials of a particular
municipality, as possible appointees to the
Tourist Development Council when a vacancy
arises. The Board of County Commissioners
may select one of the recommended persons for
a seat on the Council for a term when a
vacancy exists, as long as that appointment
is in conformity with the limitations of
Florida Statutes, Section 125.0104(c).
