RESOLUTION NO. 2002- J??
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN
AGREEMENT FOR MODIFICATION OF MEDIAN OPENINGS
AND ADDITIONAL TURN LANES AT SR 84 (DAVIS
BOULEV ARD) FROM COMMERCIAL DRIVE TO
BROOKSIDE DRIVE WITH THE STATE OF FLORIDA
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (FOOT) AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Collier County Board of County Commissioners (Board) wishes to
improve traffic flow on SR 84 (Davis Boulevard) within Collier County (the County); and
WHEREAS, the Board, after negotiation with the FDOT, believes that it can assist in
providing traffic flow improvements by implementing design, construction and construction
engineering inspection services (CEI) for ~odification of median openings and additional turn
lanes on SR 84 (the Project); and
WHEREAS, the County has agreed to provide funds in the amount of $182.885.34 to pay
for implementation of the Project;~and
WHEREAS, FDOT has agreed to reimburse the County in the State's Fiscal Year
200312004 for implementation of the Project; and
WHEREAS, the Board believes such an Agreement to be in the best interest of the
citizens of Collier County.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Collier County, Florida, that:
SECTION 1: The Board does hereby authorize its Chairman to execute an Agreement entitled,
"Joint Project Agreement between the State of Florida Department of Transportation and Collier
County for Modification of Median Openings and Additional Turn Lanes" at SR 84 (Davis
Boulevard) from Commercial Drive to Brookside Drive between the County and the FDOT,
agreeing that the County will implement the Project in exchange for a reimbursement from the
FOOT in the amount of $182.885.34 by September 30,2003.
SECflON 2: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage.
This'Resolution adopted after motion, second and majority vote favoring same.
