EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve an Extension Agreement for Collier County Partial Funding
of the Collier County Legal Aid
OBJECTIVE: To continue partially funding the Collier County Legal Aid.
CONSIDERATIONS: On October 22, 2013, the County and Legal Aid entered into an
Agreement (the “Agreement”) wherein the County agreed to partially fund the Collier County
Legal Aid. The initial term of the Agreement will expire on October 22, 2019. The proposed
Agreement extends the term to October 22, 2022, with an additional 3-year renewal term.
Funding is through fees and surcharges to Court filing fees, as mandated by Florida Statutes Sec.
29.008(3)(a).
FISCAL IMPACT: Appropriations are contained in the budget under Fund (652).
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: None.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item was reviewed by the County Attorney, is approved
as to form and legality, and requires majority vote for approval. -JAK
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners (Board) approves and
authorizes its Chairman to sign the Extension Agreement for Collier County Partial Funding of
the Collier County Legal Aid.
