EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to award RFP # 09.5252 "Indoor Air Quality" to Pure Air Control
Services, Inc., for Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) testing, cleaning and remediation services
at an estimated annual cost of $100,000.
OBJECTIVE: To obtain approval from the Board of County Commissioners to award RFP No. 09-
5252, "Indoor Air Quality" to Pure Air Control Services, Inc., for indoor air quality testing, cleaning
and remediation services.
CONSIDERATION: The Department of Facilities Management is responsible for the maintenance
of County-owned and operated structures. As a preventive maintenance measure, testing and
cleaning of air-conditioning systems and air ducts must be performed to maintain clean indoor air
environments. In addition, when needed, lab evaluations of samples are conducted and reports are
generated to determine indoor air quality levels in various work environments.
On August 26,2009, the Purchasing Department sent seven hundred and eighty-two (782) notices
to businesses. From those notices, forty-nine (49) bid packages were downloaded and two (2) bids
were received.
A Selection Committee, by consensus, selected Pure Air Control Services, Inc., as the best overall
vendor to provide IAQ services to the County.
FISCAL IMPACT: Indoor Air Quality Service expenses average $100,000 annually. Funds are
budgeted in Facilities Management operating budget, 001-122240.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with this

LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is legally sufficient for Board action. -JAK
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of Collier County Commissioners approves the award of
RFP No. 09-5252 "Indoor Air Quality" to Pure Air Control Services, Inc., for indoor air quality testing,
cleaning and remediation services and authorizes the Chairman to execute a standard contract
after approval by the County Attorney.
